Green-GO customers converge for hands-on training eventMarch 2019
Gemert, The Netherlands – Customers from across the world were welcomed at the headquarters of intercoms specialist Green-GO for a product training event and factory tour in January. Attendees were given hands-on training on Green-GO’s innovative, multi-award winning Ethernet-based digital intercom system for event production and broadcast applications.
With its expanding global network of specialist partners, Green-GO has a regular demand for comprehensive customer training. In the first of two such events planned for 2019, the Green-GO team hosted 16 visitors from Europe, Australia and South Africa. The attendees were treated to a tour of the company’s advanced manufacturing facility – where all Green-GO’s systems are designed and built – and, of course, some generous Dutch hospitality.
The full day’s training programme consisted of an introductory morning session, followed by hands-on exercises during the afternoon, designed to cater to differing expertise levels. “Sometimes the attendee is a salesman who needs to understand the USPs of the technology,” says Green-GO’s Silvio Cibien. “Then there are technicians, who want to get deep into the technology and really understand how it works.”
In what proved to be a valuable networking environment, attendees worked in teams of three, learning the technology from the Green-GO team and, by sharing their practical experiences of Green-GO systems with their team-mates, from each other. With experts from the Green-GO team on hand, higher-level users also had the opportunity to discuss specific solutions and real-world applications in greater detail.
First-time attendees also learned that Green-GO is unlike any previous experience of ‘intercoms’. “The Green-GO system is really quite different to other intercom systems,” says Cibien, “because it’s all on the network, the back-bone or central station doesn’t exist, and each unit has its own matrix. This all means you have to begin the training by saying, ‘Everything you know about intercom – please forget it!’”
Cibien concludes, “For us, it’s nice to see the interest and curiosity of our customers. Intercom was, for many years, not very interesting. So, nobody expects it to be so good, and so different.”
Green-GO will exhibit its innovative intercom technology at the Prolight+Sound exhibition in Frankfurt, from 2-5 April 2019. Visit them in hall 12.0, booth D38.
